Freeze Stats Join 21st Century - Microcontroller Replaces Mechanical Protection Devices

Duluth, GA - The FreezeCop™ freeze stat enters the market as a safer microcontroller based "smart" alternative to mechanical protection devices. FreezeCop is manufactured in a ruggedized package for use primarily inside of geothermal heat pumps and water-to-water HVAC equipment.

FreezeCop toggles reversing valves, interrupts compressors, and uses "smart" routines to predict and avoid damaging freeze events. When unable to prevent a freeze event, to thaw a coil quickly enough, or when a unit attempts to freeze too many times in an hour, the FreezeCop disables the heat pump. Disabling the heat pump prevents the unit from damaging itself, avoiding costly warranty claims.

FreezeCop employs a safety-oriented design which ensures that if a FreezeCop fails, the HVAC equipment is disabled. This is an extra safeguard not previously available with mechanical freeze stats. FreezeCop offers two installer selectable temperature thresholds and uses a 12-bit digital electronic remote sensor.

FreezeCop is intended for factory installation in new HVAC equipment by OEMs, but also retrofits into existing equipment by qualified HVAC technicians. See www.georgiacontrols.com for more information about FreezeCop and how it protects your OEM investment.

FreezeCop is manufactured in the USA and marketed under the name Georgia Controls, which is a trademark of Creative Connections, Inc. Creative Connections was founded in 1986 and is an electronics manufacturer located in Duluth, Georgia, USA.
