Geothermal Heat Pumps Get Intelligence Infusion
Duluth, GA - Already proven in over 200 geothermal heat pump installations, Georgia Controls announces the public release of its next generation flagship product to HVAC OEMs. Unlike single board control systems seen by the HVAC industry before, the Atlanta series control board brings new technological innovations such as field upgradability, flexibility, adjustability, and numerous previously unseen functions to the residential and commercial HVAC market.
"We recognized a need in the industry, and developed a controller to fill that need. A programmable system that could be configured to the installer's needs by the installer in the field. Programmable fan speeds and zone sizes, warm heating temperature, humidity control, and programmable relays were part of our initial requirements," said company president Ian Albritton in a recent interview.
At its most basic level, the Atlanta series control board is a single board controller which supports single and multi-compressors systems and is targeted toward the green-wise geothermal heat pump industry. Other characteristics include built in drives for multi-speed and variable speed fans, four independent zones, field programmability, and flash upgradability in the field. Additional built in features include optically isolated inputs, dual processors, field programmable auxiliary function relays, support for dual domestic hot water systems in addition to forced air, automated temperature control, and integral humidity control. To help technicians diagnose problems in the field, there are forty nine diagnostic light emitting diodes (49 LEDs) on board and downloadable event log files.
The Atlanta series control board, part number 236-802, is in production and available to OEMs. To ensure quality, they are manufactured and tested in the USA. Atlanta series control boards are marketed under the name Georgia Controls, which is a trademark of Creative Connections, Inc. Creative Connections was founded in 1986 and is an engineering and electronics manufacturing company located in Duluth, Georgia, USA.
